A well-known French premium haircare brand selected our PS-150 square bottle due to its sophisticated design. However, the standard PS-150 is made of HDPE, which naturally presents a matte finish. To align with their brand aesthetic, the client required a high-gloss surface while keeping the exact square silhouette, creating a bespoke PP square bottle hair care packaging solution.

Additionally, to comply with the European Union’s latest Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), the client set a strict sustainability goal: both the bottle and cap had to incorporate 40% post-consumer recycled Polypropylene (rPP).

• Material Substitution:
  We proposed replacing High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) with Polypropylene (PP), as PP can be processed to achieve a flawless, high-gloss surface while maintaining excellent compatibility with haircare formulations.
• Exclusive Tooling Development:
  Because HDPE and PP have different shrinkage rates and physical properties, they cannot share the same mold. To guarantee the precise dimensions of the square bottle, we built a brand-new, dedicated mold exclusively for the PP material through our professional custom mold development service, with the tooling cost covered by the client. From requirement confirmation to sample delivery, the entire development loop was completed within just 8 weeks.
• Sourcing & Procurement of High-Quality Recycled Materials:
  Integrating up to 40% rPP into both the cap and bottle while maintaining a luxury aesthetic is a major challenge in both sourcing and engineering, as recycled resins on the market typically introduce black spots, impurities, or discoloration. To ensure maximum purity, our team evaluated and tested raw materials from over 5 different rPP suppliers. Leveraging our extensive supply chain resources and rigorous material screening tests, COSJAR successfully sourced a high-grade rPP raw material that fully meets EU compliance standards. The resulting high-gloss finished product is completely free of any foreign impurities, maintaining a clean, crisp white appearance that successfully passed the client's strict visual inspection.
